卒計議論で藤村さんが様々なコンクールが増えたことをどう思うか坂本さんに聞いていた。審査員も何度かしたが、忸怩たる思いだったと。踊らされていたとも言っていた。同感。賞の設置は学生の為半分、建築界でのヘゲモニー獲得のため半分である。世界的に見ても賞は文化的覇権争いのいい道具である。だから要らないかというとあってもいいとは思う。競争は人を駆り立てるのだから。けど商業的になるならやめたほうがいい。

Mr. fujimura asked professor Sakamoto what he thought about the increase in various competitions during the discussion about his graduation project . he did the judges several times, but he said he was embarrassed. he also said he was made to dance. I agree. The establishment of the prize is half for the students and half for the acquisition of hegemony in the architectural world. Even from a global perspective, awards are a good tool for fighting for cultural supremacy. That’s why I think it’s okay to say that you don’t need it. Competition drives people. But if it’s going to be commercial, it’s better not to do it.

富士吉田の古びた金融ビルが菊竹さんの設計だと斉藤信吾さんが教えてくれた。そこでアートイベントなどやっている八木さんに駅で偶然会ったので菊竹建築だって知ってた？と聞いたら知ってた。
Mr. Shingo Saito told me that the old bank building in Fujiyoshida was designed by Mr. Kikutake. So I happened to meet Mr. Yagi, who is doing art events at that building, at the station, then asked if he knows that it is Kikutake Architecture? He knew it.

富士見から富士吉田に行き施工者の皆様に模型説明。下吉田の駅にはフジファブリックが鳴り響いてました。We went from Fujimi to Fujiyoshida and explained the model to the builders. Fuji fabric was ringing at Shimoyoshida station.
