冷蔵庫
現場に届いたw=650の冷蔵庫がなんと家に入らない。LIXILの樹脂框ドアのドア枠が640。まさかそんな小さいなんて？返品はできるらしいが、洗濯機は大丈夫だろうか？The w=650 refrigerator that arrived at the construction site. It does not enter the house. 三十何回目かのいい夫婦の日。あの日主賓だった篠原一男、林昌二、書家の上条信山は他界した。坂本先生はお元気で何より。仲人のスチュワート先生は少し体調が悪く心配である、年末か年始に弟子たちで伺おう。Thirty-something good couple’s day. Kazuo Shinohara, Shoji Hayashi, and the calligrapher Shinzan Kamijo, who were the guests of honor that day, passed away. Dr. Sakamoto is doing well. 信州大学に6年いたが研究室に助手（助教）が在籍することはなかった（順番が回ってくる前に辞めてしまった）。理科大には14年いることになるだろうが、助教が在籍することはないだろう（新入りに権利がないまま今日にいたる）。いたら何かが変わっていたかと考えてみるがいなければいないでなんとかなるものだ。ポスドク、補手、博士に助けられてきた。ありがとうみなさん。後少しよろしくね。
I was at Shinshu University for six years, but I never had an assistant (assistant professor) in the lab (I quit before my turn came around). I will be in Tokyo University of Science for 14 years, but I will never have an assistant professor (to this day, newcomers have no rights). I wonder if something would have changed if assistant professor had been there, but I could have managed. I have been helped by postdoctoral researcher, assistants, and PhDs. Thank you, everyone.
アルゴリズム政治
馬鹿な政治家よりコンピューターに任せた方が政治はうまく行くというのは案外正しい。若者よ選挙に行けと鼓舞したところで、今の若者は老人以上に保守的だからそんなキャンペーンは事態を改善しない。機械が責任を取れるのかという批判はあるだろうが、それなら馬鹿な政治家のうちどこの誰が責任取っのかと言われれば答えに窮する。
Indeed, politics works better when it’s left to computers than to stupid politicians. Encouraging young people to go to the polls won’t improve things because today’s young people are more conservative than the old. There will probably be criticism that machines can take responsibility, but it would be difficult to answer if you ask me which stupid politician took responsibility.
