今日は卒業式で一言。大学とか先生とかOB会とか別にどうでもいいけれど、たまに役に立つこともある。僕の人生でも卒業後10年くらいしてから篠原先生と定期的に飲み会するようになって先生との共著で最初の本を書くことになった。その後会社辞めてしばらくして坂本先生から電話が来て大学の公募を知らされた。受けたらとってくれてアカデミックセクターに偶然片足突っ込むこととなった。どれもが言ってみれば偶然。卒業後の先生とのつながりが生んだもの。皆さんにもきっとそういうことがある。先生と限らず、社会に出てから会う人と偶然のきっかけが人生を変える。人生なんてそんな浮き草のようなものである。そしてその方が楽しい。でもいい流れに乗れるように準備していないといけない。流れは突然きて去っていくものである。

Not only teachers but also people you meet after going out into the world and chance opportunities change your life. Life is like that floating weed. And it’s more fun than the stable life. But the importance is that you have to be prepared to go with the flow. The current comes and goes suddenly, and go away.

法政大学大江宏賞の公開審査に招いていただいた。理科大とはだいぶ違うアプローチに驚く。小野田さん、末光さん、香月さん、中山さんと共に審査。大江賞には鎌倉の歴史、地形を相対化した福島案が選ばれた。おめでとう！I was invited to the public examination of the Hosei University Oe Hiroshi Award.
