私の敬愛するクライアント、リーテム社長に近著を差し上げたらお礼のメールが送られてきた。その最後にこう書いてある。

「ところで、こんな本書いてどうする気？　まさかノンビリするつもりじゃないでしょうね。
まだまだ死ぬまで生きていかねばならないのだから、気は緩めないで欲しい！
かっこいいままで死んでくれ！」

そうねそう思う。気を緩めないようにします。

先週末東北大に行ったら藤野研に行ったNさんに、昨年京大に行ったら田路研に行ったK君に、芸大に行ったら藤村研に行ったY君、ヨコミゾ研に行ったYさんに会った。他大受けるのは推奨してなかったけど、こうして外で教え子に会えるのもいいものだ。Last weekend, when I went to Tohoku University, I met Ms. N who went to Fujino Lab. When I went to Kyoto University last year, I met Mr. K who went to Taji Lab. When went Geidai I met me. Y and ms. Y who went Fujimura lab. And Yokomizo lab. Though I didn’t recommend to go to university outside of TUS, it’s nice to be able to meet my students like this.

から傘の家のドイツへの移築記録を頂いた。篠原一男住宅二つめの移築だ。一つめは白の家。双方理由は道路拡幅。移築再建した住宅なんてこの二つ以外知らない。クライアントを含めた篠原ファンの力はすごい。加えて驚くのは木造建築のリユーザビリティ。今にミュージアムアイテムになるかも。I received a record of the relocation of the umbrella house to Germany. This is the second relocated Kazuo Shinohara residence. The first is the house in white. Both reasons are road widening. I don’t know of any houses that have been relocated and rebuilt other than these two. The power of Shinohara fans, including clients, is amazing. What is also surprising is the reusability of wooden architecture. It may become a museum item now.
