Saying the opposite of someone else’s claim is called contrarianism. Hideo Kobayashi and Takaaki Yoshimoto are contrarians to Marxism, and Masaya Chiba says that the recent new realism is also contrarian. In architecture, postmodernism is modernism, Kengo Kuma is object architecture, and Kazuo Shinohara is the opposite of modern rationalism. Daizaburo Hashizume says that a good book is contrarian and has books that serve as the foundation for that. Similarly, architecture is easier to understand when you can see the opponent it is competing against. However, it is only sometimes the case that easy-to-understand architecture is sound.
Mr. Yasuda showed us the posthumous work of Architect Masako Hayashi, which Mr. Yasuda had renovated. It goes without saying that Masako’s unique 45-degree rotated plan is the backbone of this building, but without the supporting structure (Imagawa) and details, this architecture would not have been possible.
I read another book. The teachings are written to live as I am and not to do anything different. That’s how I’ve lived my life, with Japan, my alma mater, my workplace, my industry, my seniors, my juniors, my neighbors, my parents, my older brother, my spouse, my children, and so on. I have always wanted to be free from everything that has to do with me, and I think I will continue to do so.
Since the weather was nice, I read a book I bought on the terrace of Kamome Books. The author tells us to read a book again. And a book that suits you. He also says that you need to read a lot to find the right book.
When I was talking about equal temperament with my guitar teacher, he lent me Osamu Tezuka’s “Luderich B” to read. B is for Beethoven. Equal temperament was born in the late 16th century. Bach established it, and Beethoven loved Bach’s Well-Tempered pieces when he was a child. It is a standardization of music to uniquely represent sounds on staff notation. Around that time, the microscope was born, Descartes appeared, and the world turned toward science, leading to modernism. Equal temperament was the first step towards modernism in music.
Me. Shirasawa was the designer of Koji Taki’s own residence. The interior of this house, commonly known as Ginsha, is made of aluminum. In Shinohara Lab’s style, they hold a competition within the laboratory and the professor creates a final proposal based on the client’s reaction, but this time the professor did not come up with a proposal. This is a photo of his home taken by himself.
