学兄小田部胤久氏の最終講義を拝聴しに来た。日建を辞めて最初の非常勤を依頼してくださったのが小田部氏でその講義ノートが博士論文の骨格となり、その出版を斡旋して下さり私の最初の単著『建築の規則』が生まれた。そこでの教え子たちと『言葉と建築』に始まる翻訳シリーズが始まった。僕の脳みそは大部分彼によって磨かれた。彼は小学生の頃から同じヴァイオリンの師についていた音楽仲間である。I came to listen to the final lecture by my academic elder colleague, Mr. Tanehisa Otabe.
