“City for everyone” by Japanese-Czech Osamu Okamura won awards in Italy and Germany, and was translated into German, Chinese, and Korean. Mr. Henmi and I created the long-awaited Japanese translation . And on May 15th we put a manuscript to the printshop. The editorial design is again by Kensaku Kato of Laboratories. This is my 4th book, but I’m asking for 2 more. This is as simple as a picture book, but more profound than an academic book. Everyone, please pick it up and take a look when it’s lined up at the store.

Evening meeting with client. Looking at the model, we reaffirmed the darkness of this house and remembered the open feel of Mr. Unemori’s home when I saw it during the day. While I long for a space for introspection, an opening that connects to the outside is very important.

The second installment of “Housing as a Concentrated Expression of Architecture” is Mr. Unemori’s home. A two-family house with my sister-in-law’s family. There are two houses across the alley. The sense of distance was exquisite, and I thought the group structure was similar to the Kaufman residence.

Ms. I of Shobunsha sent me a copy of “Immunology Night Stories” to help me to understand the book’s way of writing. Unlike the infectious disease books I read during the coronavirus pandemic, this book is not systematic, but it is also interesting. In the history of living things, there is evidence that if the number of malaria-resistant genes increases, the chance of contracting diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, where immune antibodies devour one’s own internal organs, increases, and if children grow up with the too clean environment, they are more susceptible to diseases as adults. Once a living things get jaw born, they start eating a variety of foods, so it is easy for them to develop immunity. There is also a way to write it like this.

I’ve been looking for a chair for my study that goes up to 570, but the only ones I can find are Fritz Hansen or IKEA. I ordered it, tried it, and sent it back, but in the end, this was it. It goes up to 570, but if you add a cushion and raise the seat to about 610, and the height difference between it and the desk surface is about 250, it’s best for writing. I decided to make a footrest because my feet would float when I raised the seat. On the other hand, when reading a book, lower the seat height to 500 and raise the difference from the desk height to 360, which will make your back longer.
