本を書くと褒める人もいれば批判する人もいる。これだからやめられない。褒められたことを書いてもつまらないから批判する人の言葉を記そう。N先生は窓論を都市に応用するなど「牽強付会」とおっしゃていた。S先生はすでに書いた本と同じようなことを書いているから「蛇足」と言っていた。まあ言われてみればそうかもしれないが、多かれ少なかれ建築論は牽強付会だろうし、主張はrestateだと槇文彦は言っているから蛇足こそが主張なのだと思っている。When I write a book, some people praise me and others criticize me. Well, that may be true, but I believe that architectural theory is more or less a “check and balance” theory, and Fumihiko Maki says that the claim is a “restate,” so I believe that a “meander” is a claim.

先日の魚谷邸でのインタビュー風景。編集者が送ってくれました。まるで私が魚谷さんに説教してるみたい。でもそんなことはありません。魚谷邸の空気がよく現れているので載せました。The interview scene at the Uoya residence the other day. The editor sent it to me. It’s like I’m lecturing Mr. Uotani. But that’s not the case. I included it because it clearly reflects the atmosphere of his residence.
