When I heard that a couple in the laboratory would move to the neighborhood and went to see the place this morning, it was really close. There is another alumnus who has lived near there, and a colony of our friends is being formed. Somehow it calms me down.
S, who is the artistic director of the New York Japan Society, is a junior high school classmate who played music and exercise like me, so she is a close friend who can talk about them. She worked at Yasuhiro Hamano Commodity Research Institute, and at one point she said she’s about to quit. She says she sneaked through the shuraba (extremely tough time) three times, which is a condition of independence she imposed on her. What is Shuraba? She says she can’t ask anyone to solve the problem, can’t rely on anybody, can’t make a theoretical judgment, and if she makes a mistake, it can cause great damage and inconvenience. In other words, it is a test of courage that can be overcome intuitively. When I heard that and waited for that to happen, it happened soon. that was so hard. It was only that time that I cried when I worked. Thanks to that experience, I never think it’s hard to work after that.
出張帰りにタワレコでBuddy Guy のCDを買って帰り食後アルファスペースで聞く。教え子から心暖まるメールが届き酒がうまい。
I bought a Buddy Guy CD at Tower Records on my way home from a business trip and listened to it in Alpha Space after a meal. I received a heartwarming email from my student and the whisky tastes well.
Retem Co., Ltd., a leading company in the recycling industry and a client, made its business a picture book. Children visiting the recycling factories and workers wiring in free-address offices we designed have become cartoons.
After the competition presentation, I went to Fujihimuro gallery designed by us two years ago. A photo exhibition is being held. It’s nice to see the designed building being used as intended.
今日はいざコンペのプレゼンである。勝てば今頃完成していたであろうコンペがコロナで1年遅れた。負けられ無い。神様!
Today is the presentation of the competition. The competition, which would have been completed by this time if it won, was delayed by one year in Corona. I can’t lose. God!
I went to Shimoda for business the other day. There are various luxury trains running on this line, so I took one of them. The name Saphir (French for sapphire). The first car is a spacious plan with only two seats in one row. The price is not much different from that of ordinary Shinkansen trains.
Kikunae Ikeda became a professor at the University of Tokyo and discovered glutamic acid as a result of his research on umami, and made a fortune with Ajinomoto and founded RIKGAKUKENKYUJYO. This book, which contains many stories like this, is said to be a fun science lecture note for the first year students of Osaka University to prevent May sickness.
They divided the graduation ceremonies of Tokyo University of Science into several sessions at the Budokan. And then, at the Kagurazaka campus building, we gave the diploma to students in each department. It’s a bit sad to see them go right after the ceremony, so we took a photo of them of the laboratory (we took off our mask momentarily). It’s nice to see them looking so happy sometimes.
