スペインの講演に講演料を払ってくれることになった。とても嬉しいがこの所得には下手するとスペイン、日本双方で税金がかかる。それを回避する条約が結ばれているが出す書類が実に多いのと英語でないといけない。日本に住んでいる証明書が要るが日本語しかなく、マドリド工科大にて受理されず。スペインの税金24%がひかれるらしい。卒業証書も英語バージョンある時代、各種役所書類も英語作ったらいかが？I They ended up paying my lecture fee for a lecture in Spain. I’m very happy, but if I don’t do well, this income will be subject to tax in both Spain and Japan. There is a treaty in place to avoid this, but there are a lot of documents to be submitted, and they have to be in English. I need proof that I live in Japan, but since it is only in Japanese, it wes not accepted by the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Apparently 24% Spanish tax will be deducted. In an era when there are English versions of graduation certificates, why not make various government documents in English as well?

論を聞き磯崎さんについて拙著『建築の条件』で書いたことを思い出した。磯崎は自ら書いた弔辞を集めた挽歌集の副題を「建築があった時代に」とした。篠原一男への弔辞を読むと、篠原が建築があった時代の同士だったと読める。西村さん曰く磯崎はデミウルゴスとして建築を作ることを諦観していたと。建築があった時代を懐かしむ挽歌集と繋がる。磯崎は聖なる建築を信じる西欧の建築家（ラファエル•モネオのような）たらんと欲したが叶わなかったのか、諦めたのか、作戦をかえたのか、、I wanted to stay overnight, but after admiring Oita Bay, I ended up heading back to Tokyo. According to Nishimura, Isozaki had given up on building architecture as Demiurge. It connects with a collection of elegies that evoke nostalgia for the era of architecture. Isozaki wanted to be a Western European architect (like Rafael Moneo) who believed in sacred architecture, but it didn’t come true, or he gave up, or he changed his strategy.

大江宏賞の審査をさせていただきました。模型、プレボの質、量に圧倒されました。最後まで意見が平行する審査員が問われる戦いでした。
I judged the Hiroshi Oe Award. I was overwhelmed by the quality and quantity of the models and presentation board. It was a battle where the judges, who had different opinions until the end, were tested.
