昔先生にサイン入りでいただいた住宅建築が見つからず、古本屋で買い直した。先生は80年代カオスを東京に発見して建築に応用する。そして東京のカオスは1964年刊行したこの本に既に書いたと言っている。しかしそれは先生の記憶違い。この本には人間の内面は混沌だと書いてあるが東京が混沌だとは書いてない。I couldn’t find the autographed residential building that my teacher once gave me, so I bought it again at a used bookstore. The teacher discovered the chaos of the 1980s in Tokyo and applied it to architecture. He says he has already written about the chaos in Tokyo in this book published in 1964. However, that is the teacher’s recollection. This book says that people’s inner lives are chaotic, but it doesn’t say that Tokyo is chaotic.

拙訳『みんなの都市』の装丁は鹿島出版会久保田さんとラボラトリーズが頑張った。判型、カラー、閉じ方に至るまで原書に倣ってくれた。それで2750円税込は破格だと思う。いい本になりましたありがとうございます。
Kajima publishing and Laboratories worked hard on the binding of my translation of “Minna no Toshi.” They followed the original, down to the size, color, and closing method. So I think 2,750 yen including tax is a bargain. This is a good book. Thank you.

午後は学部一年生のスパゲッティタワーを指導、夜はM1の蒲池、新関スタジオの中間講評会。今日は長い。In the afternoon, I taught first-year undergraduate students Spaghetti Tower, and in the evening I had an interim review session at M1’s Kamachi and Niizeki studio. Today is long.

東京交通会館の地下にある和歌山紀州館リノベプロボにOFDA +スパイシーアーキテクトの山本稜 +施工タンクでコンソーシアムを作り応募。やっとできました。本日和歌山県に引き渡し。来月テープカットです。皆様ご来店ください。We created a consortium of OFDA + Yamamoto Ryo from Spicy architect + Construction Tank and applied to the Wakayama Kishukan Renovation Project located in the basement of Tokyo Kotsu Kaikan. 魚谷さんの学会賞受賞作の断面は當麻寺などの本堂と礼堂を大屋根で一体化する手法。その話をしたら昔からあの断面が好きだったとおっしゃっていた。The cross section of Mr. Uotani’s AIJ prize winning work is a method of integrating the main hall and hall of temples such as Taima-dera Temple with a large roof. When I talked about it, he said that he had always liked that cross section.

拙訳『みんなの都市　初心者のための都市計画マニュアル』自宅に届いた。原書より色が薄いかな？そうだ原書の蛍光インクが高くて使えなかったんだ。やっぱすごい差だな。
