やっと昨日モノグラフの奥付などがアップされた。これで脱稿だろうか？この本作りに時間がかかっているのはディテールも丁寧に乗せていくからである。学生の勉強用の本みたいである。Finally, yesterday, the imprint of the monograph was uploaded. Is this a finish whiting? The reason why it has taken time to make this book is that the details are carefully added. It’s like a student study book.

恩師を除けばシザと青木淳さんから受けた影響は大きい。その青木さんにインタビューしに行った。９つのことを聞いた。１１磯崎さんのこと、２仕事がない頃のこと、３目的じゃないこと、４円、５度々現れる形のこと、６反転、７ニュートラルな願望と零度の不可能性、８写真ではわからないこと、９バラバラをつなぎとめること、建築の話にこれほどならないインタビューは初めてである。きっと面白いと思う。

Apart from my teacher, Siza and Jun Aoki have had a significant influence on me. I went to interview Mr. Aoki and asked him about nine things: 1about Mr. Isozaki, 2 about the time when he didn’t have a job, 3 about not having a purpose, 4 about circles, 5 about the shapes that often appear, 6 about reversals, 7 about neutral desires and the impossibility of zero degrees, 8 about what you can’t see in a photograph, 9 about holding pieces together. I’ve never had an interview that didn’t turn into something about architecture. I’m sure it will be interesting.

年賀状は出さないのでほとんど来ないが、封筒に入った素敵なカードが届いた。びっしり英語の詰まった富士山カードは銀座鳩居堂のもの。日本で働くセビリアの建築家マリアンからだ。机の上に置いておいたら配偶者が我が家の神棚に飾っていた。

I rarely get new year cards because I don’t write a New Year’s card, but I received a nice card in an envelope. The Mt. Fuji card, which is packed with English, produced  at Kyukyodo Ginza. It’s from Marian, a Seville architect who works in Japan. When I put it on his desk, my spouse displayed it on the Kamidana of my house.

Weledaという化粧品会社が出している液体入浴剤を試してみた。森の香りに配偶者もわたしも幸せな気分になれた。

I tried a liquid bath salt from a cosmetics company called Weleda. The scent of the forest made my spouse and I feel happy.

稲葉なおとの新刊『夢のホテルのつくりかた』には３７の日本の名ホテルが載っている。その中で泊まったことがあるのは箱根プリンスだけだがこのホテルには感動した。なんと村の８３歳から設計し始めたもの。そしてその後死ぬまでに新高輪と宝ヶ池を設計する。93で逝くのは宝ヶ池設計中のこと。ここまで自分も設計していたい。

Naoto Inaba’s new book “How to build your dream hotel” lists 37 of Japan’s best hotels. I have stayed in only one of them, the Hakone Prince, but I was very impressed by this hotel. He started to design this hotel when he was 83 years old. He created Shin-Takanawa and Takaragaike before his death, and it was while preparing Takaragaike that he passed away at 93. I want to be designing like him.

Renatrueのルール解読。配偶者に二戦二敗。なかなか奥が深いゲームである。汚染された渓谷に全ての動物を放ち、土壌に全ての木を植えなければならない。
We have understood Renatrue rule. I played two games and lost both to my spouse. It’s a very deep game. All animals must be released into the polluted valley and all trees must be planted on the land.
