Sensation Emotion

言葉で位置付けられない建築を言葉で説明すると、例えば伊東豊雄は自らの建築をArchitecture as Sensation 感覚としての建築と称した。また篠原一男の建築はForm of Emotion情動の形と呼ばれる。いずれも建築の最終的な局面はパトスである。しかしそこにたどり着くまではやはりロゴスであることは間違いない。

To explain architecture that cannot be positioned in words, for example, Toyo Ito called his architecture Architecture as Sensation. Kazuo Shinohara’s architecture is called the Form of Emotion. In both cases, the final aspect of architecture is in pathos. However, there is no doubt that it is Logos until it gets there.
