学会の歴史・意匠委員会の委員長選挙を２回やった。こともあろうに私の得票が多かったが、過半数獲得に至らず、３回目が行われた。そうしたらこんなこともあるのだろうか？上位２名が同数だった。そこでzoomくじ引きを行い、かろうじて委員長の任を免れた。この数週間憂鬱だった懸案事項がなくなった。
We had two elections for the chairmanship of the History and Design Committee of the AIJ. I got more votes than I should have, but I didn’t get a majority, so a third election took place. And how could this happen? The top two vote-getters were tied. So we had a ZOOM draw, and I was barely able to avoid being appointed chief committed. The last few weeks have been a depressing time for me. But it solved.
