池田菊苗は東大教授となりうま味の研究の結果グルタミン酸を発見して味の素で一財を築き理化学研究所を創設した。なんていう話がいろいろ載っているこの本は、大阪大学の初年度学生の五月病対策の楽しい理科の講義ノートだそうです。
Kikunae Ikeda became a professor at the University of Tokyo and discovered glutamic acid as a result of his research on umami, and made a fortune with Ajinomoto and founded RIKGAKUKENKYUJYO. This book, which contains many stories like this, is said to be a fun science lecture note for the first year students of Osaka University to prevent May sickness.
