This month’s issue of “When architecture was born” is a sketch of Jiro Murofushi’s perspective drawing to rebuild the “Kura” of Kumashochu. It is a picture in which three buildings with a gable and a hipped roof are arranged in a U-shape surrounding the water, and a mountain is drawn in the back. It seems that the image surrounding this water was born from the history that the Hitoyoshi Basin in Kumamoto Prefecture was a lake 2.7 million years ago and the fact that the water flow of the Kuma River is the raw water of shochu.
