クリティカルワード

『クリティカルワード現代建築』をいただいた。建築の射程の広さを表す２３５の言葉が集められている。この試みはフォーティーの欲望のオブジェに近いと編者の山崎さんが書いていた。しかしそれでもこれらの言葉の９割５分はかなり建築内の言葉だなというのが正直な感想。量が多いので一つずつの説明がやや少ないのが残念だが、それは巻末の参考文献が補填してくれてもいる。同僚の熊谷先生のお書きになった論考、建築部材のプレファブ化（普遍化）とそこから逸脱しようとする多様化とのせめぎあいの模索は、私の研究室で書かれている岩澤さんの博士論文のPC論のテーマであり興味深く読ませていただいた。

I received “Critical Word Modern Architecture”. 235 words that describe the wide range of architecture are collected. The editor, Mr. Yamazaki, wrote that this attempt was close to the book entitled Objects as Desire by Adrian Forty. However, it is an honest impression that 90% of these words are still words in the architecture. It’s a pity that the explanations for each term are a little small because of the large amount of words, but the references at the end of the book also make up for it. The dissertation written by my colleague Professor Kumagai, the search for a conflict between the prefabrication (universalization) of building materials and the diversification that tries to deviate from it is quite interesting because it has similar theme of the thesis written by Dr. Iwasawa in my laboratory.
