旅立ち
早朝ゴミを出していたらいつも朗らかな近所のおばさんが神妙な顔をして近づいてきた。「嫁が旅立ちました」という。「娘が旅立ちました」と言ったのか、孫か？？数秒意味が分からず、分かって呆然とした。まだ若く、つい最近まで元気に子供と遊んでいたのに。声も出ない。
When I was taking out the garbage early in the morning, a cheerful neighborhood lady approached me with a solemn face. “My wdaughter in law has left,” she said. Did she say ‘she has a daughter gone’ or a granddaughter? I didn’t understand for a few seconds, and when I did, I was dumbfounded. She was still young and had been playing with children until recently. I have no voice.
