遠藤さんの本

遠藤克彦さんから大阪中之島美術館のメーキングの本をいただいた。だいぶ前に美術館設計中の大阪事務所を訪ね設計のことを教えてもらった。そのあしで二人して大谷弘明さんの自邸を訪ねた。遠藤さんは大谷さんに勝ってこの建物をものにした。今作っているコンペの本でもこのコンペは取材させてもらい、改めて遠藤案と他の優秀案を比較した時にこの案が最もパッサージュというコンペ要項に建築的に正確に応答していると思った。そのことがこの本からもひしひしと伝わる。原さんとの対談もスリリンだ。遠藤さんありがとう。
Katsuhiko Endo gave me a book about making the Nakanoshima Museum of Art Osaka. Long ago, I visited his Osaka office, where they designed the museum, and learned about his design. The two of us visited Mr. Hiroaki
Otani’s residence. Mr. Endo defeated Mr. Otani and took possession of this building. I also covered this competition in the competition book I’m making now. When I again compared Endo’s and other excellent proposals, this proposal was the most architecturally accurate response to the competition requirements called passage. His answer is clearly conveyed through this book. The conversation with Mr. Hara was also thrilling. Thank you, Endo-san.
