久しぶりにマジな4時間対面会議した。面白かった。会議って相手によるなあ

We had a serious four-hour face-to-face meeting after a long time. I’m not hungry for a fruitful discussion. The meeting depends on the other party.

久しぶりに外出。健康診断後、二つズーム会議して、夜学会で対面会議。こんな急に頭が回らない。傘、コンピュータ、メガネケースが、見つからない。諦めて出かけるも、駅で名刺忘れたのに気付く。戻って出かけ直して地下鉄に乗ったが読もうと思って入れたつもりの本が鞄に見当たらない。やれやれ、

I went out after a long time. After the medical examination, I will have two zoom meetings and a face-to-face meeting in the evening at AIJ. I can’t turn my head so suddenly. I can’t find my umbrella, computer, and glasses case. I gave up and went out, but noticed that I forgot to bring my business card bear the station. I went back and went out and got on the subway, but I couldn’t find the book I intended to read in my bag. Yareyare!

Monograph の誌面はグラフィックデザイナーのDavid ができたところから送ってくれる。さすがスペイン。フォントが豊富だなと感心する。

The layout of pages of Monograph magazine are sent every time graphic designer David made it. As expected, Spain.  I admire the abundance of fonts.

日本の大学はある時から模型で考え模型でプレゼンする様になった。一方世界の大学は模型の代わりにCG を操り、2次元て説得力ある表現をする。YTAA（世界の修士設計賞）を決める時などweb上で審査は行われるから日本のスタイルは不利である。このコロナの今、模型なしで、2次元で勝負できる力を鍛えた方がいい。まずレイアウト、そして図面そのもの、来年のYTAAでは勝負できるかもしれない。

From a certain time, Japanese universities started to think with models and make presentations with models. Universities around the world, on the other hand, manipulate CG instead of models to create two-dimensional and persuasive expressions. The Japanese style is disadvantageous because the examination is done on the web, such as when deciding YTAA （Young Talent Architecture Award ).  Now during corona time it is better to train the ability to compete in two dimensions without a model. First of all, the layout and the drawings themselves may be able to compete in next year’s YTAA.

YTAA 決定

月曜夜の大学院の座学は受講者6人でサロンみたいで楽しい。昨晩はデザインについてである。

建築には理念が要ると拙著に書いたら、理念は必ずしも要らないと友に言われて少し凹んだ。しかし吉見さんは大学改革に理念が必要と説き、その説明に説得力があった。吉見理論を勝手に建築に読み替え気持ちが晴れた。フランシス•フクヤマがヘーゲル的な進歩の歴史は終わり資本主義が安定したと言ったがコロナで加速する格差を見てもここで歴史が終わっては困る。同様に建築もモダニズムで終わらず、歴史に連動しながら、かつ自律的理念のもとに変容してほしい。

When I wrote in my book that architecture requires an principle, my friend told me that You don’t  necessarily need a principle, and I was a little depressed. However, Mr. Yoshimi explained that university reform requires a principle, and the explanation was persuasive. I read Yoshimi’s theory as architecture without permission and felt better. Francis Fukuyama said that the history of Hegelian progress was over and capitalism was stable, but the accelerating disparity in the corona does not mean that the history ends here. Similarly, I want architecture not to end with modernism, but to be transformed in line with history and based on autonomous principle.
