設計者に求められる能力と聞かれて、朝から晩まで芝目地を図面に描いていられること。と言ってきたが、最近それじゃダメだなと思うようななった。一つ一つきれいな目地を描こうという向上心があることを付け加えないと。When I was asked what skills an architect should have, I would say they have to be able to draw turf joints from morning till night. I’ve been saying that, but recently I’ve come to think that’s no enough. I have to add that they have to have an aspiration to draw beautiful joints one by one.

岸田日出刀1943年の著書。彼の歴史記述は1933年まで。ナチの部分はドイツ人が書いた文章の翻訳。面白い。The book written by Hideto Kishida in 1943. His writings date to 1933. Nazi part is translation of German article. interesting.

12月7日David Stewart 80歳。東工大のDavidの教え子5人は青い薔薇を送り彼の健康を祈念した。青い薔薇の花言葉は願いが叶う。December 7, David Stewart, 80 years old. David’s five students at Tokyo Institute of Technology sent blue roses to pray for his health. The flower language of the blue rose makes your wish come true.

Fujimi Hut を掲載いただく住宅特集1月号が本日校了。12月1日に撮影してその日に入稿し、図面も文章も差し替えながら校正し一週間で校了。JIAマガジンの編集長になってから毎月追われる気分を5年も味わうとこのスピード感も普通に感じる。11月頃取材要請を受けてから、今日までが編集者の感覚で見えてくる。

The January issue of the Juraku Tokushu containing Fujimi Hut has finished editing today. They took a picture on December 1st and submitted it to the print factory on the same day. It’s been 5 years since I became editor-in-chief of JIA magazine, and I have felt like I’m being chased every month. From around November when I received the interview request, I could see the process of editing until today as the editor’s sense.
