早稲田大学出版会の八尾さんと今書いている本の最後の詰め。タイトルを『世界としての窓』に決める。窓があるから世界がある。世界があるから窓があるのではないと。八尾さんは大学でヴィットゲンシュタインを学んでいた人。編集者は皆文系で飲んで楽しい！This is the final stage of a book I’m currently writing with Mr. Yao from Waseda University Press. I decided on the title “Window as a World”. There is a world because there is a window. There are windows because there is a world. Mr. Yao studied Wittgenstein at university. All the editors I now work with are from the liberal arts and have fun drinking!

ESTAM(マドリード工科大学）とTUS（東京理科大学）共同のワークショップを3月4日から9日までマドリードで行います。理科大生も1年生から3年生まで10人以上参加。A joint workshop between ESTAM (University of Technology of Madrid) and TUS (Tokyo University of Science) will be held in Madrid from March 4th to 9th. More than 10 students of TUS will participate, ranging from first to third year students.

川添善行さんのoverlapと対をなすマルグレイヴのFrom object to experienceの翻訳をいただいた。ラスムッセンの『経験としての建築』がヴァージョンアップして美学や生物学へと拡張した。今書いている本の序章に五感の話しを少し書いたが背中を押してくれる。I received a translation of Mulgrave’s From object to experience, which is a companion to Yoshiyuki Kawazoe’s overlap. Rasmussen’s “Architecture as Experience” has been upgraded and expanded to include aesthetics and biology. I have written a little bit about the five senses in the preface of the book I am currently writing, and this book is very supportive.

先日拙宅にやって来たクライアント候補の敷地は神楽坂から東へ約2時間。風景は全く変わる。この鄙びた景色も成田空港第三滑走路ができると全く変わるのだろう。The site of a potential client who came to my house the other day is about two hours east of Kagurazaka. The landscape changes completely. This desolate landscape will probably change completely once Narita Airport’s third runway is built.

山本想太郎さんの著書をネタにトークしました。最後に受験間際の女子校生が「建築家って何が楽しいのですか」と聞いたので答えました。物が生まれるのに立ち会えるから、でも嫌なことはその100倍あると。We talked about Sotaro Yamamoto’s books. Finally, a female high school student who was about to take entrance exams asked us “What’s fun about being an architect?” and we answered. I get to witness the creation of things, but there are 100 times more unpleasant things.
