『教養としての建築入門』へのインタビューを受ける。朝10:30から14:00まで。小さい記事にこんなに時間かけるので感心する。僕がJIAマガジンでやっているインタビューは2時間で8ページ作っている。それに比べると遥かに入念だ。記事は再来週地方紙15紙くらいに配信されるとのこと。地方紙おとりの方は読んでみてください。
Received an interview for “Introduction to Architecture as Education”. From 10:30 in the morning to 14:00. I admire him for spending so much time on such a small article. My interview is 8 pages in 2 hours, so it’s much more elaborate. The article will be delivered to about 15 local newspapers next week. If you are a local paper decoy, please read it.

編集者の川尻さんに言われた。坂牛さんの文章はさまざまな引用ののちに、坂牛のオチなく次の話題に展開することが多い、前著もそうだったと不満顔。
うーんこれは意識的にしている場合と無意識のうちにしてしまった場合とある。いずれにしても、これが展開の速さを生んでいるのだろう。気をつけよう。Mr. Kawajiri, the editor, told me. Mr. Sakaushi’s writing often develops to the next topic without Sakaushi’s punchline after various quotations, and he is dissatisfied with his previous work.

この本によれば、資本主義は利益率の向上をその成長の必然とする。そのために、利益は次に消費されるものを生み出す手段に使わなければならない。それは人間のニーズを満たすためにではなく、満たさないようにするために使われるという。そしてGDPと資源消費量は比例するので資本主義の成長＝自然破壊となる。これはもはや世界の常識なのだと。おそらく正しいのだろうな。According to this book, capitalism makes increasing profit rates inevitable for its growth. Therefore, profits must be used to produce the subsequent consumption. It is used not to meet human needs but to keep them from being met. And since GDP and resource consumption are proportional, the growth of capitalism equals the destruction of nature. This is now common knowledge in the world. You’re probably right.
