プロポの会議終わったら9時だけど未だ30度。ちょうちんが似合う。It’s 9 o’clock when the prop meeting is over, but it’s still 30 degrees. Paper lanterns look good on it.

暑くても朝からハナはめちゃ元気Even if it’s hot, Hana is very energetic from the morning

東北大藤野研と合同ゼミを高碕でしようとしてたら前橋工科大の若松さんが加わった。それを聞きつけた東北大小野田研もジョイン。前橋工科大では駒田先生、石黒先生もジョイン。学生も50人集まり長い暑い1日をエンジョイしました。Mr. Wakamatsu from Maebashi Institute of Technology joined me when I was about to hold a joint seminar with Tohoku University Fujino Lab at Takasaki. Tohoku University Onoda Lab, who heard about it, also joined. 50 students also gathered and enjoyed a long hot day.

今年1番暑い日に日本で1番暑い場所にある藤野さんのアトリエに来た。ヴィヴェイロス・デ・カステロの影響はあるのかと聞いたら、それはない。彼が「生き物建築舎」を作ったのは20年ちかく前だし。On the hottest day of the year, I came to Mr. Fujino’s atelier, which is located in the hottest place in Japan. When I asked if there was any influence of Viveiros de Castelo, it was not. It was almost 20 years ago that he built the “Ikimono Kenchikusha”.

1944年に浜口隆一が新建築に発表した「日本国民建築様式の問題」はなんと5万字もあるのだがほとんどは西洋建築の建築意欲について書かれている。それはほぼウィトルウィウスに遡り、西洋は柱を物質的に構築的に作った。しかるに間面法で建築をとらえた日本は柱の間で建築を把握したのだがら相対的に空間的だと言う結論に至る。間面法だけが日本建築の建築意欲という理解は釈然としない。Ryuichi Hamaguchi’s 1944 publication “The Problem of Japanese National Architectural Styles” in Shinkenchiku has a whopping 50,000 characters. Still, about 40,000 characters are about the will to build Western architecture. It returns roughly to Vitruvius, and the West made the pillars materially constructive. On the other hand, Japan, which grasps architecture by the method of frontage, concludes that it is relatively spatial because it grabs architecture between pillars. It is not clear that this is only the front method that is the architectural motivation of Japanese architecture.

研究室OBOG、田中、松原、夫婦建築家ユニット、マシュー建築設計事務所が設計した上池袋のメディウムを拝見。ガラス屋さんの使わない倉庫が立教大学を引退した先生の蔵書を置くパブリックスペースに変身した。Laboratory OBOG, Tanaka, Matsubara, husband and wife architect unit, Matthew Architects designed the Kami-Ikebukuro medium. A warehouse not used by a glass shop has been transformed into a public space for the library of a professor who retired from Rikkyo University.
