On August 15, 2021
by 卓 坂牛

I thought I wouldn’t go out not because I was afraid of Corona more than necessary, but because I was lazy. However, this is not the case, and I have come to think that the underground space, which has become a work place for the couple, is a different kind of exposed concrete in the same house, and because it is bare feet, it makes me feel like going out. I call this place Alpha Space. Originally it was a public space in a private house where anyone could come, but it turned out that it will also be a remote work space in the future.

On August 14, 2021
by 卓 坂牛

Dawkins’s famous ‘selfish gene’ theory overturned Lorenz’s idea that animal aggression was to preserve the species. Some animals herd because it increases the chances of survival of individual genes, not because herding is an instinct. This action is why migratory birds tend to group in families after crossing the border in flocks and become aggressive towards each other. The larger the community, the more competitive it is, but the more conflict and skirmishes there are.

Dr. Hidaka says that the behavior of humans and animals (though humans are animals) is very similar. The reason why humans have societies is that it increases the possibility of individual survival. Companies, for example, grow in size because they are more profitable, less likely to be overtaken by competitors, and more able to protect the livelihoods of tomorrow. Isn’t that the ideal form of organization? And just like in a herd of animals, the bigger the pack, the more dissatisfied its members become. That’s why the most considerable dissatisfaction in organizations is with the state. Just as the balance between costs and benefits determines the behavior of animals, the balance between stability and discontent (compromise) determines the size of an organization. Thinking up to this point, I suddenly remembered my previous job in a design firm. The organization is getting bigger and bigger to beat the competition, but is this not leading to more dissatisfaction among its members? I hope my fears are unfounded.

On August 14, 2021

Mercari delivery is done by Yamato and the post office. Yamato runs at FamilyMart or Seven eleven and the post office runs at Lawson. Sending a book costs 170 yen for Yamato and 200 yen for the post office. Furthermore, when the book was wrapped in bubble wrap and exceeded the upper limit of 3 cm in thickness, Yamato didn’t  charge me the extra fee but the post office severely charged it. So I will use Yamato (Famima or Seven) from now on.

偏食

On August 14, 2021

When cooking becomes a norm, when I wake up in the morning, I start thinking about menus for day and night. When I’m muttering whether to eat this or that, my spouse says she hates this and that! I didn’t know until now, but this person is quite an unbalanced dieter! Our generation would have had to finish what their parents were scared of, without complaining …

文章

On August 13, 2021

When you start writing sentences on the CPU, you will write what you have come up with and rearrange them on the assumption that you will fix it. Some books about how to write encourage such a method. However, once you get used to it, you lose the ability to organize your thoughts. As a result, the spoken language becomes worse. With that in mind, I started writing a 200-character diary in the morning. However, after continuing for a year, nothing was written well. What I wrote as I came up with was not something I could read later. I can finally read it after thinking about the composition for about 10 minutes, but there is a lot of waste. The point of a 200-character sentence depends on how you can write without using the same noun. For that purpose, the composition is important and the point is what to start writing. As is often said, it is correct. Since I am writing with a fountain pen, if I make a mistake at the beginning of writing, I can not go back anymore, so the first letter is prepared for death.
