On July 4, 2021

Yoshimi cites the following as the wrong button in the 90’s in university reform. It is said that generalization, policy, self-inspection, securing study time, setting the upper limit of study time, GPA, syllabus maintenance, FD, class evaluation, all of which hardly function even after 30 years, but rather exhaust the university. I think so at all. From my point of view, what I think is barely meaningful is GPA (evaluation is easier to compare), FD seminar (sometimes it helps), class evaluation (my lecture won a prize in this evaluation) After that, you should really stop. It’s nothing more than a waste of time. I think Japan will become a better country if the time is spent on faculty research and education.

Tetsufumi Takimoto, who died young, has a way of reading that makes sense. He will not tell you to read this book because good books are different for everyone. But knowledge needs to be relative, so he has recommended two books in each field. The two books that “change the way people think” are presented as books that change and books that do not change. The book that doesn’t change the way people think is Al Reis’s “Positioning Strategy,” which explains how to position yourself in the way you think. In the competition I’m doing now, I’d like to make a presentation that fits into the other person’s way of thinking, rather than asserting my own.

On July 3, 2021

I think the secret of teaching is not to teach but to make the person being taught feel positive about learning. I was surprised when I read this book that this is also true in football, where mental coaches teach technical coaches to break down the old ways of coaching. It’s called unlearn. In Japanese, it says “manabikowashi.” It’s not about directing; it’s about listening. It is something that is needed not only in education but also in all parts of society. Those who still think that it is their role to speak from the top (and I sometimes do) should reconsider.

It is said that 1.2 out of 10,000 soccer players can play in the Premier League and 3.8 in the Spanish League. It is not a job that you can choose with effort. In the case of architect once a mean teacher said that “there is only one architect in this room”, but compared to soccer, it can be managed, or it wins faster, and it wins.

On July 2, 2021
by 卓 坂牛

Things are there to tell people what they are worth. Books are signs accumulated by people who mistakenly believe that books are themselves. When this book says that, I think it might be true. But I don’t think I will throw them away.

Finally we finished making publisher’s imprint. However, the issue date is more than two months away. It’s been over a year since we drafted it. Because of corona it is progressing slowly. This book is an important book that reconsiders modern architecture, although I say it myself, and Koichi Kato, who shares its significance will write recommendation comments.
