On July 1, 2021

This book is one of the most exciting fashion books of all time. This is because it analyses fashion about gender, revealing the history and background of gender differences in style and the gender differences in the people who make it.

In the past, men and women wore the same clothes, but men began to wear suits from the time of neoclassicism. The image was that of armor. Women’s clothing has always been a surface decoration without any significant changes, while men’s clothing has undergone the above revolution, leading to a change in form. Since then, it says, “the distinction between formal tailoring for men and frivolous ‘fashion’ for women has grown, reaching its extreme in the 19th century”. It gives us an idea of why the Giedion was so reluctant at the beginning of the 20th century to let architecture degenerate into fashion in the white walls we have translated.

There is a food called tofu skin, which is simply a thicker version of yuba (I think). It is sold cheaply in Gyoumuyou supermarkets. If you put some consommé powder on it and microwave it for 10 minutes, it becomes a crunchy snack. How about a protein snack?

When CAD was put into practical use, Shoji Hayashi said it was nice because he didn’t have to erase it with an eraser. I really suffers from eraser scraps. Eraser scraps are scattered all over the house. Since it is a pity to erase the residue on the bed, I use  iPad at the bed and draw down the precious idea of the dawn. However, I often found that that sketch doesn’t work when get I put in a scale.

We did a zoom interview with Erika Nakagawa. When I asked the new students of theTokyo University of Science the other day which architect they wanted to be, she was the only young person to be mentioned. I finally know what I could see in that huge model.
