On April 8, 2021
by 卓 坂牛

I was surprised to hear that Kazuo Shinohara had told Mr. Shiozaki that his last work was included in the genealogy of the House in white (first style). That was one of the conclusions of the quantitative analysis of Kazuo Shinohara’s house in Mr. Omura’s dissertation. Mr. Omura’s over 400-page treatise has been uploaded below. Please have a look.

On April 8, 2021
by 卓 坂牛

I Have the books I bought sent by Takkyubin and lay them side by side on the floor. Neither buying nor reading is systematic. So in order to systematize them in my head, I have to remember the main points. That’s why I make a note on my blog. The blog has a search function. So it’s better than a notebook to prosthesis a half-broken 60 brain.

On April 7, 2021
by 卓 坂牛

As a young man, Uchida wrote many articles on Camus, a French literary scholar. I didn’t know much about Camus, but Uchida says that Camus’s stance against inhuman absurdity, which is without depending on a higher class (God or ideology), is related to his father’s absence. I probably stopped believing in a higher rank at some point when I took my father as my anti-social role model. The presence of the father is significant. And I entirely agree with Camus that his ethics is a simple humanism of “man” or “not man.”

On April 7, 2021
by 卓 坂牛

Two of our works are listed in Mr. Kanebako’s recent book “Structural Design”. When I read his structural explanations, I can see that Mr. Kanebako was thinking in a completely different dimension that we were desperately trying to realize at that time. It’s strange.

Metal ceiling

by 卓 坂牛

I am designing a metal ceiling. I once had Kikukawa make a stainless steel ceiling in the NTT DoCoMo showroom. I was moved back to Japan from France where I saw the metal ceilings of Pelault  and Nouvel.

On April 5, 2021
by 卓 坂牛
In New York, the city center is falling through the cracks. Tokyo could lose 10% to 20% of its downtown offices. And some jobs will likely become the norm to work more than 100km from the city center. But that doesn’t mean that New York and Tokyo will become ghost towns. In this sense, my interest lies in using the city center rather than living in the countryside. It seems to me that this is an opportunity for young people to use the city center. I am going to try to do such a project in the pre-diploma at Tohoku University.
