生きていくには大なり小なり仮面を被らなければならない。自らを偽るということではなく、自分という人間の安定した外面を繕わなければならないということである。所詮人間はAでありBでありCでもあるのだが、そうコロコロ変わると自分も相手も困るから自分という設定（仮面）が必要となる。しかるにアンディーウォーホールは色々な自分が万華鏡のように現れる人のように感じる。少なくともこの本を読んでいると。

To live, we have to wear masks, big or small. It　does not mean that we have to pretend to be something we are not, but we have to put up a stable facade of who we are. We are all A’s, B’s, and C’s, but if we change from one person to the next, both the other person and we are in trouble, so we need a mask. Andy Warhol, however, seems to be an artist who is a kind of a kaleidoscope of different selves. At least, that’s what I get from reading this book.

昨日エアコン掃除をしたので今日はWC掃除。WCは床と壁は腰まで全部FRP塗布。FRP床の上にプラスティックの束、その上に確か樹脂木の根太、さらにその上に樹脂木のフローリングを置いて目地のところにプラスティックの止め金具を入れ、根太にビス留めしてある。１年に1回外してシャワー洗浄。

Yesterday, I cleaned the air-conditioner, today we cleaned the WC. The floor and the walls are all coated with FRP up to the waist. On the FRP floor, there is a plastic bundle. On that, I think there is a plastic wooden joist, on which there is a plastic wooden flooring. At the joints, there is a plastic stopper, and it is screwed to the joist. Once a year, I remove and wash in the shower.

クリスマスエスキスに参加してくれたOBたちが異口同音に修士設計がスタートしていないと嘆く。僕もそう思う。毎年早く始めよと言っているのだが、、始まらない人が多い。そうなる理由は論文テーマを選ぶ時に設計を描いていないから、、論理が形にならない。
The OBs who participated in Christmas Esquisse say that the designs haven’t started yet. I also think so. I have been telling them to start early every year. If they look at their seniors, it’s easy to understand. The reason is that they don’t think about how the theory is getting into design when they chose the theme. That’s why the theory didn’t make form.

頭はペーパーレスになるか？

今年の元旦のブログに今年の目標を以下のように書いたのでその顛末を記しておこう。

•2冊の本の出版

→1冊だけだった。

•学会シンポジウム、テーマは3月技術、6月素材、9月分離派

→6月の素材を11月に無観客でやり、他の二つは延期。

•JIAマガジン、今年最初のインタビューは長谷川逸子さん

→これは比較的順調に、長谷川さん、畝森さん、中山英之さん、世界の若手、古澤さん、マウント富士、山本理顕さん、金箱さん、坂本一成さん、伊東豊雄さん、日本設計・日建設計・久米設計の若き社長達。

•研修所リノベ、ビール工場コンバージョン、児童家庭支援センターの完成

→最初の二つは完成、三つ目は未だ工事中。

•新たな4年、修士はもとより、博士3名と新たな研究

→それなりに。

•ポルトガル、デンマークへ新たな留学生を派遣k

→行ったけれど帰ってきた。

•チェコでWS サンチアゴからディエゴグラスを招聘してWS

→チェコは行く直前に延期、ディエゴはzoomで招聘。

On New Year’s Day of this year, I wrote about my goals for the year, and here’s how they turned out.

-Publish two books.
→Only one book was published.

-Conference symposia on the themes of technology in March, materials in June, and Bunriha in September.
→We could hold the symposia of the material in November without an audience, and we postponed the other two.

-JIA Magazine, the first interview of the year was with Itsuko Hasegawa
→The first interview of the year was with Itsuko Hasegawa, followed by Unemori, Hideyuki Nakayama, young people from all over the world about the situation of Corona, Furusawa, Mount Fuji, Riken Yamamoto, Kanabako, Kazunari Sakamoto, Toyo Ito, and a trilogy with the young presidents of Nihon Sekkei, Nikken Sekkei, and Kume Sekkei.

The renovation of the training center, the beer factory’s conversion, and the child and family support centre’s completion.
→The first two are completed, the third is still under construction.

-With new undergraduate students, new master course students, three new doctorates, we will do further research.
→We did

-New students sent to Portugal and Denmark.
→They went but came back soon.

-WS in the Czech Republic invited Diego Gras from Santiago for WS.
→WS of The Czech Republic was postponed just before the trip. Diego was invited by zoom.

我が家のユーカリは鉢植えと地植え。地植えの葉は緑だが鉢植えは赤くなってきた。

Eucalyptus in my home are potted and ground-planted. The leaves of the ground plant are green, but the potted plants are getting red.

県庁所在地方都市行くと地銀の本店や地方新聞の本社がある。徳島行ったら阿波銀行本店が、岡山行ったら山陽新聞本社があり両方とも日建の設計だった。かたや60年代、かたや2000年代デザイン。

If you go to the city where the prefectural office is located, you will find the head office of the regional bank, or regional newspaper. When I went to Tokushima, there was the Awa Bank head office, when I went to Okayama, there was the Sanyo News paper head office, and both were designed by Nikken. One is designed in the 1960s and the other was done in 2000s.

今日は坂牛研恒例のクリスマスエスキス。卒計、修士設計をOBOGがアドバイスするもの。今年は残念ながらzoom開催。自分はマスト出張で船の上、バスの上、空港ロビーと移動しながら発表を聞いた。
Today the annual Christmas esquisse of Sakagyu Lab is taken place by zoom. OBOG advise the thesis projects. I heard the presentation while traveling on a business trip on a ship, on a bus, and airport.
