I received a study abroad consultation from a third-year student teaching at Zoom.I heard that she want to work locally after studying abroad. So I introduced two graduates who work abroad.

It seems that Mr. O who works in Denmark took more than half a year to find a job, but I remember that the starting salary was about 600,000. yen. Taking into account high taxes and price levels, the allowance is considerably higher than Japan’s. Even though they are the same, the thickness of welfare is completely different, so I think that quality of life is rich. Good luck, future architect.

In Iidabashi there is a famous classic film theater called Ginrei Hall. I visited there at the time of Nikken several times. It was dying in Corona and called for cloud funding. I’m not an enthusiastic fan of the movie, but I thought it is nice to have Then theater like this in town, and when I made a donation, a thank-you card arrived. It seems that more than 20 million yen have gathered, but it seems still difficult.

On August 25, 2020
by 卓 坂牛

When Paul Frankl’s The Principles of Architectural History: The Four Phases of Architectural Style, 1420–1900, was reprinted in 2007, the translator, Hisao Kayama, changed the Japanese title of Paul Frankl’s book to Principles of Architectural History. This change was homologous to Wölfflin’s famous book, Principles of Art History, who had a strong influence on Frankl (although They had not published Wölfflin’s book until a year after Frankl’s book). What Wölfflin based the Baroque on in art, Frankl did in architecture in greater detail. In his book, he identifies architectural characteristics as space, object, image, and purpose and divides them into four stages: Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, and Neoclassical. He also extracts the principles. 1) the addition and division of space, 2)the center of power and movement, 3)the singularity and plurality of images, and 4) the freedom and constraints. And the key to the book is the method of framing the thought process. And he was heavily indebted to Wölfflin for the framework. And I urge young students to read the two books, both at once. It will help you to develop your eye for looking at architecture.

My friend in Spain sent me an email  with photo saying, “Thank you, it arrived today.” It took four months but I’m glad it didn’t go away. Hikyaku seems to have traveled about 400 km to Kamakura, From Kyoto in three days. According to that calculation, 10,000 km to Barcelona would take 75 days for Hikyaku to reach there. But in reality It took nearly twice as long, but isn’t it bad?

I sometimes receive a royalty payment statement when I’ve forgotten; then, it never says for which book the royalty is. Kashima has published five books pf me, so I’m curious to see which ones are selling well. The fact that I receive a fee means they have reprinted the book. But I’ve never heard of that either.印税
