On August 17, 2020
by 卓 坂牛

Students and teachers have experienced some digestive problems at Zoom’s review meeting. The reason is that it takes more time for the listener to understand than for the face-to-face explanation. Therefore, during the summer vacation, we reviewed the projects that 4th year and M1 students did in the first half of the year in the laboratory. Exposed to the eyes of M2 and the doctor, one person took 15 minutes to be reviewed and commented. When I saw it again, various important points became visible again.

Finally, everyone voted for the best work. Then again, something different from the ones chosen by the teachers emerges. Architecture is like this.

I am thinking about how the influence of rising tide level due to global warming will affect the construction on the Tokyo Bay coast in the future. According to the data on storm surge contained in the book about Tokyo Bay No. 3, it happened in Showa 24 . It is quite old. What is predicted now is that reclaimed land will not flood due to the high ground level. On the other hand, the 0 meter zone will not be flooded unless the floodgate and levees are broken, but it will be flooded if it breaks. When the warming tide rises, the end of the landfill near the open sea is flooded. Approximately 3 container piers are flooded.

Interior work for a restaurant was underway in the neighborhood. I thought it would be unlucky to open a store at this time, but the floor construction in front of the store has begun and I thought they don’t have to spend money on the outside. But at the end II thought it would be nice to have a terrace seat. It looks a little too greedy,

Tokyo Bay Readers Vol. 2 “Tokyo Bay Islands” There are nearly 80 human-made islands in Tokyo Bay, and I designed three buildings on three of them. Each of these islands has its history. A pioneer in the reclamation of the Keihin Industrial Zone was the first island off the coast of Kawasaki, built by Soichiro Asano with financial support from Zenjiro Yasuda. The fact that a private citizen made such an effort is awe-inspiring.

I used to lose many things once upon a time. But recently I found things I left in various places.  A wallet, a cell phone, a key, glasses, a computer, and a hat. Even if I left it in a car in foreign country my friend brought it to me when he came to Japan half a year later. I thought I should throw it away with mess, but if I wash it, glue it and iron it, It looks ok

While I was rowing at the gym, I watched a bicycle race. However, if you look closely, the image is CG. I was wondering if it was a video game. It turned out to be not, World-class athletes are participating on bicycle machines from their homes and gyms. surprise,,,

The structure construction of the clinic building is almost over. Similar to the center building, there is a top light in the center of the symmetrical plan, and a square pipe supports the roof of almost the center of the relatively large central space. Standing as if piercing Warron under the top light, which is 4 meters high. Is a 70 mm square pipe like a needle? I’m looking forward to seeing It next week.

by 卓 坂牛

I interviewed Mr. Kanebako for JIA Magazine. It was interesting to hear about the personality of the architects from the structural designer. Mr. Hiroshi Hara is extremely theoretical in his reasons for designing. Mr. Aoki’s final point was reversal. Mr. Ando decides on the main plot but leaves the rest of the design to him. Mr. Sakamoto makes the structure vague. Mr. Chiba thinks long and hard. What about me?
