３年生の後期の製図課題を新たに作ろうということで湾岸埋立地の歴史を掘り起こしている。僕は日建時代、内幸町にオフィス、アクアラインで換気塔、お台場に商業施設、さらに独立してから城南島で工場を設計した。４つとも広義の埋立地である。埋立地と一言で言ってもその歴史的コンテクストが強いところと、そんなものは希薄でテクノロジーが前面に出てくるところと様々である。今回その中間地点を選んで課題としたいと思っているのでまずはお台場の復習をしながら温暖化による潮位の変動を調べている。しかしどうも日本近海の潮位の上昇傾向は顕著には見られないことが分かった。

Dr. Namba sent me a copy of “New Theory of Housing.” The four-layered architectural theory (physicality, energy, functionality, and symbolism) corresponds to the structure, facilities, planning, and history, design of architecture.
