On August 11, 2020
by 卓 坂牛

Kozo Kadowaki sent us the Japanese Pavilion catalog for the Venezia Biennale. Kadowaki and his team were planning to demolish a house built in 1954 across the street from Kadowaki-san’s home and transport it to Italy to build a building using the old timbers. It was a fearsome attempt to revive an older man five years older than me in Italy. The project was postponed due to the Corona disaster, but will it be done next year?

Everyone makes a model before the presentation. Model shows  many things as we expected.

The flower of Nantan died and a small bulge was formed. One of them became a green mass. It will turn red soon.

On August 8, 2020
by 卓 坂牛

We had the 2.5-hours design session of the first semester. Fourth-year students are getting to sketch. Challenging today was a house in the Ookayama shopping mall, which was the site of my graduate school project. The practice was well worth it. Here is the first of two A3 sheets of excellent works.

On August 8, 2020
by 卓 坂牛

From the time I was a junior high school student, I have  been thinking about the essential points of life such as hygiene, health, and meal  with emphasis on scientific reason.Wheras spouse think that this is an experience-oriented matter. Occasionally, science logos are beaten by the pathos of experience. No, I will leave it to her rather than be defeated. It’s because I don’t trust scientific logos completely . I think it’s okay. That habit sometimes happens at university, and even if it doesn’t make sense, it’s empirically true, I am likely to accept it.

On August 7, 2020
by 卓 坂牛

After listening to yesterday’s graduate school critique session, I pulled out a drawing from my graduate school days, tucked away in my wardrobe, for a housing assignment taught by Mr. Shinohara in 1984, finished inking on an A2 board. My spouse peeked in from the side and said, “Is this Shinohara-sensei? I said, “No, it’s me,” She said, “You’re better than you are now.

講評会

On August 7, 2020
by 卓 坂牛

We held the critique session for the master’s design project at zoom. The teachers were Mr. Kaneda and Mr. Torao. On the theme of “spinning”, they started to think about the joints’ details and tried to make it into an LRT station building. Although the students and the professor never met, I was surprised at how good the design was, even more so than last year. What was even more surprising was that Mr. Kaneda critiqued the design from the gate of the airfield, a unique feat for zoom.
