I am rereading Enric’s doctoral thesis, which I judged in 2015. Once again, it’s interesting to see a humanistic analysis that probably wouldn’t work in Japan. Kazuo Shinohara always placed emotion at the center of his houses. Homes should be places where family warmth (domesticity) should be created and sentiment should be placed, but Shinohara did not do that. Eric analyzed only five houses in which emotion was clearly expressed: the white house, the earthly house, Mr. Tanigawa’s house, the house on Uehara Street, and the house in Yokohama. Why is there a kitchen that exudes everydayness in the sanctuary of the white house? Things like why the bedrooms in local houses are underground are all devices that create emotion.

Kazuo Shinohara used “System of Things” (1968) as a textbook in his graduate school classes when credits were exchanged with the University of Tokyo. It was written at the end of the first style, and the translation came out in 1980, at the end of the third style. Was he relativizing his own theory?

A ceremony commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the University of Tsukuba High School Soccer Club was held. The history of his alma mater’s soccer club is also the history of Japanese soccer. Although soccer had been actively played before the club was founded, this is the 100th anniversary since it was officially recognized as a club of the Toin-kai. Soccer was introduced to Japan during the Meiji period, and the “seeds” of soccer were sown throughout the country, starting with the Tokyo National Higher Normal School’s soccer club. Looking back at the history of the Tokyo Junior High Normal School soccer, it appears that they organized daily “play,” and that their graduates created soccer clubs at the schools they went on to, and continued to support the soccer world from all walks of life even after becoming alumni.

cool.
When I turned on YouTube TV in the morning, Yoshihide Otomo’s music started playing. I thought it was a song I knew, but it was composed for the video of Re-Tem Tokyo Factory. In this video, Akiko Kitamura, winner of the 13th Japan Dance Forum Grand Prize, dances at a factory.
